H1N1 Vaccinations To Be Offered To Guantanamo Bay Detainees

A fore taste of what GOVERNMENT CONTROL of who gets what HEALTHCARE will bring !!!

"The Pentagon will offer the H1N1 vaccination to detainees at the U.S. facility at Guantanamo Bay, officials there said Friday." [CNN]

How important is Insurance?

"Without insurance, the entire concept of private property rights is not sustainable. The industry does a poor job of making this point, because you never hear it, but it is true. If you can lose any property with one strike of a match, one cutting of a bolt or one turn of the wheel -- then you effectively have no real property ownership.

Further, without insurance, the concept of ever getting a loan for a car, boat, a Harley or a home is out the window. Even if you obtain these things by writing a check for the full price, the concept of a good night's sleep is out the window without the financial protection of insurance.

Thus, the idea of a vibrant free market economy is in fact moot without risk management by way of insurance. (And you know, maybe that's the whole point behind the trashing of the insurance industry. More on that later.)" [American Thinker]

Democrats handpick reform bill audience

PUBLIC unveiling of the PUBLIC Health Care option closed to the PUBLIC.

"House Democrats blocked the public from attending the unveiling ceremony of their health care bill Thursday morning, allowing only pre-approved visitors whose names appeared on lists to enter the event at the West Front of the Capitol." [Washington Times]

This reminds me of Hitler and Stalin who were notorious for "packing" their audiences with selected (often secretly reluctant) attendees. It makes for better images on the news..... can't see any signs of protest!

Reid’s bait-and-switch tactics

"By making such a fuss over the public option, with the connivance of the liberals, he keeps the spotlight away from the Medicare cuts, the end of Medicare Advantage, the inevitable rationing of healthcare, the taxes on the uninsured and the sick and the cuts in medical reimbursement. A bill with all these provisions — even without a public option — is pernicious enough!

And these tactics can still produce a bill with a public option.

Will this tactic work? It all depends on the political environment outside Washington. If the bill is only marginally unpopular (the current 40-55), it will probably pass.

But if public opinion moves another five or so points (to, say, 35-60 against), then the moderates will probably refuse to cave in." [Dick Morris]

Pelosicare Unveiled– Dem’s Plan Forces Takeover of Health Care Industry

"Pelosicare will force individuals to buy the government insurance, will tax the wealthy, and will result in rationed care and the end of private health insurance industry.
It’s a socialist’s dream." [First Things]

I'll pass on 'opting out'

"Almost everything wrong with our health care system comes from government interference with the free market. If the health care system is broken, then fix it. Don't try to invent a new one premised on all the bad ideas that are causing problems in the first place." [Ann Coulter]

The Real Deal .......

Michelle contradicts Obama nativity story

"Divulges Ann Dunham was 'very young and very single' at birth of U.S. president" [WND]

Narcissistic Rage in the White House

"While most people are pretty hard to predict, extreme narcissists are comparatively simple. They constantly hunger for ego gratification, they are immature, constantly need to demonstrate their own superiority, often need endless sexual conquests (like Bill Clinton), are manipulative, constant liars, are completely cold about the human beings they harm (like John Edwards), and they deal with frustration by uncontrollable fits of rage.

I think that's what we saw last week with the White House lashing out at Fox News." [American Thinker]

Something to keep in mind

"The government has failed dramatically in its effort to make the swine flu vaccine widely available. We're quickly approaching the time by which this was supposed to have been accomplished, but the government is nowhere close to having accomplished it. In July the Obama administration said that 80 to 120 million doses could be ready by mid-October. But now, in late October, only about 16.5 millions doses have become available. When a similar faiure occurred in 2004, the Democrats blamed President Bush. But I don't blame President Obama. I blame the fact that the federal government isn't very good at delivering most services in a timely manner. The stated reasons vary from case to case, but the result is generally the same" [Power Line]

Keep this in mind as you consider whether or not to support government run health care!

Dismantling America

"Just one year ago, would you have believed that an unelected government official, not even a Cabinet member confirmed by the Senate but simply one of the many "czars" appointed by the President, could arbitrarily cut the pay of executives in private businesses by 50 percent or 90 percent?" [Thomas Sowell}

Lieberman: I'll Support GOP Filibuster of Public Option

"Sen. Joe Lieberman says he will back a GOP filibuster of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s healthcare reform bill because of its inclusion of a “public option” — a devastating blow to the Obama administration’s hopes of unified Democratic support for a healthcare bill with a government-run insurance program" [NewsMax]

Pelosi: Health care 'public option' needs new name

"A government-sponsored "public option" for health care lives, though it may be more attractive to skeptics if it goes by a different moniker, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Monday.

In an appearance at a Florida senior center, the Democratic leader referred to the so-called public option as "the consumer option." Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., appeared by Pelosi's side and used the term "competitive option."

Both suggested new terminology might get them past any lingering doubts among the public—or consumers or competitors." [Breitbart]

Do these arrogant, elitist, eggheads think we are too stupid to see through this?

War fatalities leave Obama with dilemma

"Two fatal helicopter crashes in Afghanistan and large-scale bombings in Iraq have thrown into stark relief the risks for President Barack Obama in fulfilling his campaign pledge of shifting Washington’s resources from one conflict to the other." [The Economist]

A Minority View: Academic Dishonesty

"College education is a costly proposition with tuition, room and board at some colleges topping $50,000 a year. Is it worth it? Increasing evidence suggests that it's not. Since the 1960s, academic achievement scores have plummeted, but student college grade point averages (GPA) have skyrocketed." [Walter Williams]

OBAMA paid up our U.N. dues .... and here's the UN's response

For a long time the U.S. refused to pay all of the dues the UN assessed us .... we pay 25% of their total budget.... Obama paid up all of our back dues, and here's the "thanks" he is getting !!!!!!

UN Launches Investigation on Human Rights Violations By the US

Obama Advisor Sunstein urges: Abolish marriage

"Under our proposal, the word marriage would no longer appear in any laws, and marriage licenses would no longer be offered or recognized by any level of government," .... Sunstein also says "the state owns the rights to body parts of people who are dead or in certain hopeless conditions, and it can remove their organs without asking anyone's permission." This guy is Obama's Regulatory Czar!!! [WND]

Thinking about selling your house? You will need Gov't approval!!!!

".... this bill prevents you from selling your home without the permission of the EPA administrator.

To get this permission, you will have to have the energy efficiency of your home measured. Then the government will tell you what your new energy efficiency requirement is and you will be forced to make modifications to your home under the retrofit provisions of this Act to comply with the new energy and water efficiency requirements. Then you will have to get your home measured again and get a license (called a “label” in the Act) that must be posted on your property to show what your efficiency rating is; sort of like the Energy Star efficiency rating label on your refrigerator or air conditioner If you don’t get a high enough rating, you can’t sell. And, the EPA administrator is authorized to raise the standards every year, even above the automatic energy efficiency increases built into the Act." [Federal Observer]

Now you can hear and see WHY John was fired!!!

Obama's war on Fox & half the country

"It is a good thing President Obama & Co. are angry with Fox. It means Fox is doing its job, you know, holding the Executive Branch accountable, like a real news organization. This is good news. Traditionally in America, the Fourth Estate's role has been to challenge those in power, challenge the assumptions, examine the assertions, and check for accuracy, all the while carrying both sides of the story.

The truth is Barack Obama is becoming a most divisive President. " [American Thinker]

American Idea

"Americans are harder workers, more philanthropic, individualistic, self-reliant, anti-government than people in most other countries. We’ve turned what was an 18th-century Third World nation into the freest and most prosperous nation in mankind’s entire history. Throughout our history, United States has been a magnet for immigrants around the world. What accounts for what some have called American exceptionalism?" [Walter Williams]

Iran Double-Crosses Obama

Obama has been dealing in secret with the Iranians over fuel for an Iranian reactor. Foolishly trusting them, Obama, got Russia and France to aid the effort. Today, in Vienna, Iran announced, it is welching out on the deal and blames the U.S. !!! OBAMA has been schnookered !

"Green Jobs" In Germany

The "green jobs" hoax has been a fiasco wherever governments have tried to implement it. Most recently, the German think tank Rheinisch-Westfälisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung has published a report titled Economic impacts from the promotion of renewable energies: The German experience. The report is well worth reading in its entirety. It points out that the "green jobs" that have been created through government subsidies are more than offset by the inefficiency of the resulting energy production.

Because the "green jobs" produced by government subsidies are absurdly inefficient--as noted above, up to $240,000 per job!--the report says that should subsidies be ended, nearly all of them would quickly disappear. There is one hope, though--the United States might be dumb enough to take this inefficient energy production off the German government's hands." [Power Line]

Bernanke gone berserk! Bank reserves explode!

"Martin [Weiss] here with the most shocking new numbers I’ve seen in my lifetime.

My conclusion: Fed Chairman Bernanke has dumped so much funny money into the U.S. banking system and has done so little to manage how that money is used, the fate of our entire economy has now been cast under a dark shadow of doubt.

This is not conjecture or exaggeration.

Nor are the underlying facts subject to debate.

They are blatant, unambiguous, and fully supported by the Fed’s own data …" [Money & Markets]

Shut Up, They Explained

"Fox is nowhere near as consistently pro-Republican as CNN is pro-Democratic, which is one reason it has a more bipartisan audience. As to MSNBC, of course, there is no comparison. And broadcast television is monolithically Democratic--NBC, CBS, ABC, the View, the Today show, Good Morning America, 60 Minutes--the list goes on and on.

One might wonder why the Obama administration is so outraged that a single network fails to toe its line. The administration acts as though it deserves a monopoly on the news. Isn't that unreasonable?" [Power Line]

OBAMA’S HEALTH INSURANCE TAX: COMING SOON TO ALL POLICIES

"The Baucus healthcare bill provides for a tax on “gold-plated” health insurance policies. But, as with the Alternative Minimum Tax, once slated to be imposed only on the wealthy, inflation will make most Americans liable to pay the 40 percent tax in a few years." [Dick Morris]

HIGH PRICE OF OBAMACARE

"Will a young, healthy, childless individual or couple buy health insurance costing 7.5 percent of their income, as required by Obama’s health legislation? Not until they get sick. Then they can always buy the insurance, and the Obama bill requires the insurance companies to give it to them. And if the premiums come to more than 7.5 percent of their income because they are now sick, no problem. Obama will subsidize it." [The Hill]

2009 federal deficit surges to $1.42 trillion

"What is $1.42 trillion? It's more than the total national debt for the first 200 years of the Republic, more than the entire economy of India, almost as much as Canada's, and more than $4,700 for every man, woman and child in the United States.

It's the federal budget deficit for 2009, more than three times the most red ink ever amassed in a single year." [AP]

America is well served by Mayo Clinic's thoughtful health-reform critique

"In recent weeks the American Medical Association (AMA) stepped out and enthusiastically endorsed the health-reform bill proposed by House Democrats. This sparked a nationwide flurry of criticism from health-care providers, who made it known that the AMA does not speak for them and that the bills in Congress fall far short of solving America's health care issues.

Of these provider voices, the Mayo Clinic's may be the most influential. " [MinnPost]

"Russia Disses Iran Sanctions"

"Just before Hillary arrived in Moscow, she warned that America was impatient. With whom? With the Iranians, of course. But her impatience with Tehran will be useless unless we get impatient with Russia."
