Two on United Flight Arrested on Terror Charges in Amsterdam

This is the kind of screwing around that our enemies are doing. Some of it is testing and probing. Some of it is simply provocation to gain headlines for the "injustices" they face. But it is ALL aimed to defeat our country!

and our government finds itself on the horns of a dilemma.... do they crunch down hard on suspected terrorists who have not YET violated any of our regulations..... or do they go with their gut and and grab these idiot terrorists before they blow up the next airplane?

A Protein Killer Could Treat All Cancers, and Possibly All Illnesses

"Since last April, 19 cancer patients whose liver tumors hadn’t responded to chemotherapy have taken an experimental drug. Within weeks of the first dose, it appeared to work, by preventing tumors from making proteins they need to survive. The results are preliminary yet encouraging. With a slight redesign, the drug might work for hundreds of diseases, fulfilling the promise that wonder cures like stem cells and gene therapy have failed to deliver."

Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson violated rules, steered scholarships to relatives

"Longtime Dallas congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson has awarded thousands of dollars in college scholarships to four relatives and a top aide's two children since 2005, using foundation funds set aside for black lawmakers' causes.

The recipients were ineligible under anti-nepotism rules of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, which provided the money. And all of the awards violated a foundation requirement that scholarship winners live or study in a caucus member's district. " [Dallas Morning News]

A prime example of the problems of racially motivated politicians, e.g. Congressional Black Caucus!

Remember ... "...... they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. ....."

I hope judgment of Ms. Johnson is swift and sure.

Idiot MSM Commentator says "God" should not be talked about on "Sacred" ground !!!!!

"Greg Hengler captures the moment in which “incoherence” is defined, during CNN’s “Reliable Sources” yesterday. Howard Kurtz notes that libtalker Bill Press had spent the last several weeks crusading against Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor rally, but that Beck kept partisan politics out of the speeches yesterday to focus mainly on religious themes. Press continued his objection, noting that the Lincoln Memorial and its “sacred” location was no place to talk about either God or politics. Er, it’s too “sacred” for God? Maybe Bill should check his thesaurus:" [Hot Air]

Obamacare’s Calorie-Count Mandate Now In Effect—But Not Enforcable

" A mandate buried in the health-care bill President Barack Obama signed in March is now confounding not only the vending-machine operators who are supposed to follow it but also the federal regulators who are supposed to enforce it." [CNS]

No Surprise Here

Proof of the bias in the mainstream media ........................

"The Center for Responsive Politics has analyzed the political contributions of those who identified themselves as employees of CBS, NBC and ABC in 2008. The result: 88 percent of those contributions went to Democrats. The Presidential contest was even more lopsided: network employees made 710 contributions, worth a total of $461,898, to Barack Obama, and 39 contributions, totaling $26,926, to John McCain. If you're counting, that's 94 percent for Obama." [Power Line]

Louisianans give Bush higher marks than Obama on disaster response

"In a fruitless quest to change the subject from Obama's failures, the liberal media, particularly NBC and MSNBC, are having an orgy today of Hurricane Katrina retrospectives on the fifth anniversary of the disaster. The obvious subtext is that George W. Bush was an incompetent president, worse than Obama. However, the people of Louisiana are not buying the narrative.

Fifty-four percent say Bush has done a better job in "helping Louisiana to deal with crisis" while 34 percent give more credit to Obama. Thirteen percent are undecided." [American Thinker, Politics Daily]

Destroying Jobs at 2.5 Gallons per Minute

"In 1992, the Department of Energy managed to promulgate a regulation requiring that showerheads use no more than 2.5 gallons per minute as an effort to save...water. This is a substance that's in such short supply that 75% of the planet is covered with it.

For eighteen years, this regulation was interpreted one way -- the limitation was per nozzle, so people desiring a more vigorous shower could simply install a couple more showerheads, or a multi-nozzle shower system. A specialty arose in the marketplace: the creative design of elegant and invigorating shower systems.

In May 2010, the Department of Energy clarified their interpretation of the rule: it's 2.5 gallons, period. Not per nozzle, but per entire system. And they made it as clear as they could in the language of lawyers: by suing manufacturers who had dared defy the powers that be by obeying the interpretation that had held sway for eighteen years, instead of anticipating the interpretation that the Obama administration would suddenly decide upon.

In a heartbeat, every manufacturer, distributor, seller, and installer of high-flow showerheads across the country had to stop and check their product lines, shutting down assembly lines in factories, taking products off the shelves, putting a hold on construction and remodeling projects while plans were studied, while alternatives were sought, while substitutions were evaluated and selected." RESTORING HONOR RALLY – 500,000 Patriots Gather to Honor America

The patriotic crowd that had already gathered at the Lincoln Memorial today in our nation’s capital stood and sang “God Bless America” at 6:30 AM during a sound check.

An estimated HALF MILLION people gathered to hear and watch Glenn Beck's rally.

An estimated 3,000 people gathered for Al Sharpton's counter protest !!!

Alveda King told the crowd, “I too have a dream!”
This was a terrific speech!

DISGUSTING

DISGUSTING
BEHAVIOR BY THIS
ADMINISTRATION

This past week the Obama Administration hauled the State of Arizona in front of the UN Human Rights Council over its immigration policy. For the record, this sham council includes human rights offenders Cuba, China and Libya. The Obama administration told the United Nations Human Rights Council that America’s human rights record was less than perfect in the report they submitted to these thugs this week.

In a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, [Arizona Governor] Brewer says it is “downright offensive” that a state law would be included in the report, which was drafted as part of a UN review of human rights in all member nations every four years.

White House Censoring Critisism of Stimulus Spending

According to Norman Eisen, the Special Council to the President on Ethics and Government Reform, the White House is geared to unleash Gestapo-like tactics to confront nay-sayers head-on. Not only lobbyists, but anyone else having the temerity to speak out against the government !!!!!!!!!!!

Mr Eisen in his own words -"Following OMB’s review, the Administration has decided to make a number of changes to the rules that we think make them even tougher on special interests and more focused on merits-based decision making. [Flowery words, eh????? Ed.]
First, we will expand the restriction on oral communications to cover all persons, not just federally registered lobbyists. For the first time, we will reach contacts not only by registered lobbyists but also by unregistered ones, as well as anyone else exerting influence on the process. We concluded this was necessary under the unique circumstances of the stimulus program."

[Be sure to read the WHITE-HOUSE' own words on this HERE]

I am suspecting the same spirit of Gestapo, strong arm tactics that I outlined being used by Barney Frank and Maxine Waters et. al. this week regarding the letter from the Committee on Financial Services to William Frey of Greenwich Financial here.

[Be sure to view this Letter from Barney Frank, Maxine Waters and others in Congress threatening a financial group with subpoenas for exercising their First Amendment right to speak out]

These are the GESTAPO tactics being employed by this Alinsky motivated administration.

Let me get this straight. We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't,

Written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it and whose Speaker states we will pass it to see what it says, and by a congress that exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president who also smokes,

with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese,

and financed by a country that's broke.

What the hell could possibly go wrong?

How the Media Is Treating the 912 Project

Tampa 912 Project Members,

The headline currently on the Drudge Report links to a Washington Post article regarding the Restore Honor Rally this weekend in DC. According to Glenn, the article is a "relatively fair" account of the rally...relative given it is coming from the Washington Post. That comment inspired me to write what follows.

The Tampa 912 Project was inspired by Glenn's vision of a post 9/11 attitude and the sense that our country was being shaken off it's foundation and we needed to connect with like-minded Americans to empower ourselves to restore it to its root principles and values. The philosophy we undertake, like America's founders, is that we are endowed with our Creator with rights; inalienable rights meaning that these are our birthright and cannot nor should not be taken from us by our government. The government exists to preserve those rights against tyranny. While Glenn inspired the 912 movement, there is no structure in place for him to dictate or control our group or any others.

I was interviewed on the phone for 15 minutes Monday by a Politico Reporter responsible for this anti-Beck article. It was clear by his pointed questions that his article was going to portray the 912 movement and the rally and its motivations negatively and he was not searching for the truth.
His first question was how was Beck orchestrating getting us up to the rally. I told him that we are all inspired to get up there on our own without any assistance from Glenn or his staff; we hold to the value of personal responsibility. It was one of our members who stepped forward and coordinated filling five buses totally on his own! I advised the reporter that our group and 912 groups across the nation are independent groups. He then tried to bait an argument that many 912 organizers are upset that Glenn isn't controlling our group more. I responded that I and other organizers I have spoken with prefer to not have a national structure that can be easily defeated by destroying it's top tier. We prefer local leadership that is branded with it's own character and can fit the needs of our community more aptly. I continued that we stress education first and the result of our education is grassroots lobbying primarily on issues, both nationally and locally, that make a difference.

The point of all this is that my remarks didn't fit the reporter's pre-conceived template of his story so he chose to ignore them altogether and dig around until he could find a disgruntled "anonymous" person with which to predicate his story on. There was no mention that over 150 of our members have committed to attend this rally to simply honor those that have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms. The missed story was why are so many people compelled to take the time to go to DC en masse?

Morgan Stanley: Government Defaults Inevitable

"The bills for decades of profligate spending and borrowing are finally coming due, and governments can't pay them. Morgan Stanley warns that defaults are inevitable:

One big advantage we have over many other countries is that most Americans understand the peril we are in as a result of unrestrained government spending and borrowing. Unlike Greece, where the mildest of austerity measures resulted in rioting by citizens who apparently think they can freeload forever, most Americans have responded to the crisis by taking action, e.g. through the Tea Party movement, to pull this country back from the brink before it is too late. We should see the culmination of that movement--or rather, of its first phase--on November 2." [Power Line]

What the man may not have realized is that the State Department has confirmed a rash of these almost undetectable counterfeits, called "supernotes," have been flooding the U.S. from North Korea in a form of monetary sabotage one former FBI agent warns could constitute an act of war.

The Associated Press is now prohibiting its staff from using the words “Ground Zero mosque” in stories

"The Associated Press, one of world’s most powerful news organizations, issued a memo today advising staff to avoid the phrase “Ground Zero mosque.”

The Upshot reported Tuesday that the AP started using the phrase “Ground Zero mosque” in some headlines in late May. The New York Times, for one, has consciously avoided that phrasing.

The AP began using the phrase as the controversy over the proposed Islamic cultural center and mosque in Lower Manhattan started bubbling up to the national level. Many news organizations, across platforms, routinely dub the project the “Ground Zero Mosque.”

The AP has always been clear in the text of stories that the project would be built two blocks from Ground Zero and not on the actual site. But AP headlines, at times, ran with the phrase adopted by opponents of the project and amplified by the media.

Now the news organization is taking steps to make sure that no longer occurs." [Michelle Malkin]

Just How Smart Is Obama?

"The meteoric rise to the presidency of Barack Obama was fueled in no small part by the widely accepted contention that he was one of the smartest men ever to seek the Oval Office.

As far as Barack Obama being smart as a whip goes, he has no clue in economics, nor has he any understanding of foreign policy; he is supremely arrogant and doesn't care if it rubs people the wrong way; he has few political skills and no administrative ability, nor does he have any desire to engage in the day-to-day drudgery of ruling, preferring to reign instead; and he revels in the luxury of presidential perks and delights in flaunting his excess. So how come every time President Obama opens his mouth to state his position on some issue -- as he did this weekend, speaking about his support for that mosque near Ground Zero -- the White House scrambles to issue a "clarification" -- followed less than a day later by an "elaboration" of the clarification?" Health care push a boon to Big Labor

"Mr. Obama knew where his bread was buttered and to whom he would owe his presidency, promising on the campaign trail:

"We're ready to play offense for organized labor. It's time we had a president who didn't choke saying the word 'union.' A president who strengthens our unions by letting them do what they do best: organize our workers."

... perhaps Mr. Obama's greatest flourish is how he has managed to repay his labor suzerains while simultaneously consummating the long-held liberal dream of national health care. Glenn Beck's departure from Fox News, Part 1

"On rare occasions, a unique figure bursts onto the national stage and has a dramatic impact on politics, culture, or both. Glenn Beck is one of those figures. He is surely the biggest, fastest, most controversial star in the political commentary business in my lifetime.

Beck's show is so good that I'm convinced if a person doesn't watch it on a regular basis, it's almost impossible for him to understand the true causes of the moral and economic collapse of the United States – or even that it is collapsing – because no one else on TV covers most of the stories he dissects in impeccable detail. His modus operandi has been to expose the bad guys through their own words by playing audio and video of them shooting off their mouths and by quoting their writings.

For quite some time now, I have believed that Beck has become so good at exposing the truth, so well-respected and so powerful that the Forces of Darkness in the White House and Congress view him as a major threat to their aspirations to eliminate the Constitution, the rule of law and individual sovereignty in the United States. (In fact, they now refer to him as "the Beck problem.") " [Robert Ringer]

1st Ladies - A Comparison !!

How to step off Air Force One with dignity While representing the greatest nation on earth ! ! !

The stunning decline of Barack Obama: 10 key reasons why the Obama presidency is in meltdown

"The last few weeks have been a nightmare for President Obama, in a summer of discontent in the United States which has deeply unsettled the ruling liberal elites, so much so that even the Left has begun to turn against the White House. While the anti-establishment Tea Party movement has gained significant ground and is now a rising and powerful political force to be reckoned with, many of the president’s own supporters as well as independents are rapidly losing faith in Barack Obama, with open warfare breaking out between the White House and the left-wing of the Democratic Party. While conservatism in America grows stronger by the day, the forces of liberalism are growing increasingly weaker and divided.

Can it get any worse for President Obama? Undoubtedly yes. Here are 10 key reasons why the Obama presidency is in serious trouble,.... [discussion of each reason found in main article]

1. The Obama presidency is out of touch with the American people

2. Most Americans don’t have confidence in the president’s leadership

3. Obama fails to inspire

4. The United States is drowning in debt

5. Obama’s Big Government message is falling flat

6. Obama’s support for socialised health care is a huge political mistake

7. Obama’s handling of the Gulf oil spill has been weak-kneed and indecisive

8. US foreign policy is an embarrassing mess under the Obama administration

9. President Obama is muddled and confused on national security

10. Obama doesn’t believe in American greatness

Tea parties: A new kind of coalition

"... like most coalitions, tea-party members are committed to a broad set of beliefs, not bogged down in wonky policies like the Republican and Democratic Parties. Tea partyers are committed to a general sense of fiscal responsibility: lower taxes, a balanced government budget, earmark reductions, and limited government spending.

Tea-party members may disagree about how to achieve these objectives, but agree on the end result. It's a general doctrine with which the tea- party movement has attracted Americans from all partisan corners. The majority might identify with the Republican Party, which "on paper" is fiscally conservative, but the full picture of the tea parties is painted when their Democratic and Independent members are included." Democrats, Advocacy Groups Blast Cuts to Food Stamps to Fund $26B Aid Bill

"House members convened Tuesday and passed the multibillion-dollar bailout bill for cash-strapped states that provides $10 billion to school districts to rehire laid-off teachers or ensure that more teachers won't be let go before the new school year begins, keeping more than 160,000 teachers on the job.....

But the bill also requires that $12 billion be stripped from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as food stamps, to help fund the new bill......

Republicans, meanwhile, vocally opposed the state aid bill. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., told Fox News it rewarded "irresponsible states" and their unions.

"It is basically taxpayers from fiscally (responsible) states bailing out fiscally irresponsible states. ... Medicaid funding, teacher funding, the more popular of the public unions, what this is, it's a bailout to prevent states from doing the necessary spending prioritization that they need do," he said." "Liberals can't seem to leave anything alone, and they soil everything they touch. In another world, you might think that liberals would celebrate a woman from a middle-class background who rose in politics through sheer talent and willpower to become the first female Prime Minister of the history of Great Britain; and who then, in that position, led a renaissance that resurrected her country as an economic and military power for a generation.

Of course, that isn't the world we live in. In this world, liberals hate that sort of achievement; even more so if the hero of the story is a woman. So they are making a movie that trashes Margaret Thatcher." [Power Line]

Newsweek columnist says US funding mosque construction

"Newsweek, the Washington Post's former progressive stepchild, published an op-ed by Fareed Zakaria, the in-house lapdog for the Administration, extolling the virtues of building the Ground Zero Mosque. A couple of sentences demand a great deal more explanation.

  • To that end, early in its tenure the Bush administration began a serious effort to seek out and support moderate Islam. Since then, Washington has funded mosques, schools, institutes, and community centers that are trying to modernize Islam around the world." [American Thinker]

While Obama preaches sacrifice, his family frolics in Spain

Even the AUSTRALIAN PRESS sees the hypocrisy in the Obama's behavior ...... lecturing us on vacationing on the Gulf Coast while jetting off to a five star resort in Spain with 40 of her friends and 68 Secret Service escorts!!! No wonder she's being called Michelle Antoinette... LET THEM EAT CAKE !!!

Why ObamaCare has gaping holes

"Wait until the public discovers the government is now literally determining what qualifies as “health care” in America.

That isn’t a typo. ObamaCare mandates that insurers spend a certain percentage of premium dollars on benefits, but Democrats never got around to writing the fine print of what counts as a benefit. So a handful of regulators are now choosing among the tens of thousands of services that doctors, hospitals and insurers offer." [Paterico]

The Death of the Dollar

"Nothing can save our financial system in the long run. It is doomed to collapse. This is inevitable, because our government controls and manages its very foundation -- the dollar.

The federal government began its takeover of the dollar in 1913 when it established the Federal Reserve Banking System. Prior to that, the dollar was a real store of value. In the period from 1783 to 1913, there was a long period of currency stability with virtually no inflation. If you saved one dollar in 1800, your great-grandchild could buy roughly the same amount of goods with the same dollar one century later.

In 1913, five dollars could get you the following:

15 pounds of potatoes, 10 pounds of flour, 5 pounds of sugar, 5 pounds of chuck roast, 3 pounds of round steak, 3 pounds of rice, 2 pounds each of cheese and bacon, and a pound each of butter and coffee ... two loaves of bread, 4 quarts of milk and a dozen eggs.

In 2010, five dollars barely gets you two pounds of cut chicken meat." [American Thinker]

How Smart Are We?

"Many of the wonderful-sounding ideas that have been tried as government policies have failed disastrously. Because so few people bother to study history, often the same ideas and policies have been tried again, either in another country or in the same country at a later time-- and with the same disastrous results.

One of the ideas that has proved to be almost impervious to evidence is the idea that wise and far-sighted people need to take control and plan economic and social policies so that there will be a rational and just order, rather than chaos resulting from things being allowed to take their own course." [Thomas Sowell]

Obama's August Surprise?

"Rumors are spreading that in the face of a predicted blowout for Dems in November and Obama's ever lowering approval numbers, he is planning to order Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to renegotiate down the principal on mortgages where the properties are now worth less than the existing mortgages." [American Thinker]

The Prophet of the Ruling Class

"So now the EPA has been petitioned to ban the use of lead in bullets and fishing weights.

The scary thing is that one individual, EPA Director Lisa Jackson, has the power to impose such a ban.

It's the same for every aspect of American life: A small group of elite administrators, czars, judges, or politicians -- often just one person -- think they have the right to decide what's best for 320 million Americans."

State Dept. Pulls "Spain Is Racist" Warning as Michelle Lands

"The Obama administration faced an embarrassing diplomatic blunder today after it was forced to pull a warning about racism in Spain - just as the First Lady arrived in the country for a summer holiday. [To spend days in the 60 rooms reserved for this Imperial court !]

Soon after touching down in the Costa del Sol yesterday morning, Michelle Obama was pictured taking in the sights of Marbella with daughter Sasha, nine, surrounded by a throng of bodyguards.

Staff at the U.S. State Department removed the contentious advice to travellers, which included the phrase 'racist prejudices could lead to the arrest of Afro-Americans who travel to Spain,' from its website on Monday." [UK Mail Online]

I wish someone had asked General Patton this

"I think we missed the story from mid-July about Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' mind-boggling effort to lobby Gen. Petraeus to reduce the military's carbon footprint in Afghanistan. During a hearing on the war (yes, this is war we're talking about) the Arizona Democrat stated that the U.S. Air Force is "the largest user of energy on the planet" (even larger than Al Gore?). She then asked Petraeus whether he plans to use "small-scale solar and hydropower systems and also some solar-powered street lights" at our bases in Afghanistan." [PowerLine]

Arizona Governor Brewer's response to Suns criticism

The owner of the Phoenix Suns basketball team, Robert Sarver, opposes AZ's new immigration laws. Arizona's Governor, Jan Brewer, released the following statement in response to Sarver's criticism of the new law:
"What if the owners of the Suns discovered that hordes of people were sneaking into games without paying? What if they had a good idea who the gate-crashers are, but the ushers and security personnel were not allowed to ask these folks to produce their ticket stubs, thus non-paying attendees couldn't be ejected. Furthermore, what if Suns' ownership was expected to provide those who sneaked in with complimentary eats and drink? And what if, on those days when a gate-crasher became ill or injured, the Suns had to provide free medical care and shelter?" - Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer

Ariz. Sheriff: Report of $1M Bounty On His Head

"A sheriff in Arizona known for his anti-immigration policies says his office is investigating a report of a $1 million bounty on his head.

A spokeswoman for Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio says the report was relayed by the FBI and by a caller who told Fox affiliate KSAZ-TV in Phoenix that the threat was from a Mexican drug cartel. Phoenix is the seat of Maricopa County." [Newsmax]

The Lame Duck Session Could Get Lamer

It seems that the six states which appointed Senators to fill vacant seats recently (CO, DE, FL, IL, NY & WVA) have laws which require that after the November election the winner of the election race becomes Senator immediately. NY is an exception. It has no such law. This means that the Democrats MIGHT NOT have 60 vote majority even without other wins. Therefore, they MIGHT NOT be able to ram through undesirable legislation in the lame duck session after the November election and before swearing in the other elected Senators.

This Will Make You Sicker

"In addition to the grave medical concerns pertaining to the appointment of Dr. Donald Berwick to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is another issue that speaks to his political perspectives. Berwick has been actively involved with the international advocacy group Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), which was established with funding from the Ford Foundation.

In 2009, Berwick said that "the decision is not whether or not we will ration care; the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open." In 2005, he said that he doesn't "care so much what doctors say." Other comments of Berwick's should put everyone on notice. They include:
  • "I would place a commitment to excellence-standardization to the best-known method-above clinician autonomy as a rule for care."
  • "Young doctors and nurses should emerge from training understanding the values of standardization and the risks of too great an emphasis on individual autonomy."
  • "Political leaders in the Labour Government have become more enamored of the use of market forces and choice as an engine for change, rather than planned, centrally coordinated technical support." " [American Thinker]

Poison Pill: The New Senate Energy Bill

"The latest Senate energy bill, quietly unveiled last week, looks like sweet compromise on radical measures like cap and trade, but buried within is a bitter poison pill that will could be swallowed in a vote that may come this week." [American Thinker]

  • an astounding electric car welfare program. Section 2116 explains that 400,000 such vehicles will be virtually given away at low cost -- or perhaps no cost -- to people living in "selected communities diverse in population" and "demographics."
  • pages 264-265 require that any new construction or remodel of an existing structure must include the installation of proper hookups for charging an electric vehicle. So even if you have no intention of owning such a car, adding that extra bedroom will require you to spend additional money to install battery-charging infrastructure in your garage.
  • to switch from traditional petroleum to natural gas. Section 2002 describes federal rebates, ranging from $8,000 for large pickups to $64,000 for heavy-duty Class 6 trucks weighing 26,000 pounds,
  • the code -- which supersedes all state and local measures ...... "The Home Star Retrofit Act of 2010." This Act places a hard squeeze on every property owner to spend thousands of dollars in environmental compliance upgrades in a time of economic stringency and falling home prices
