President to Parents: "Do As I Say..."

"Parents of the 216 students in Washington, D.C. who have seen Mr. Obama's congressional cohorts gut the Opportunity Scholarship program must have found cold comfort from the president's soothing words on NBC. The Heritage Foundation's able education analyst Lindsey Burke tells us what Mr. Obama said to "The Today Show"'s Matt Lauer:

Feds Making NYCity Spend $27M to Change Lettering on Street Signs

If this is costing $27,000,000 for NYC alone, how many hundreds of millions, perhaps BILLIONs will it cost when enforced nationwide?  It isn't the money out of our pockets to which I object, it is the INTRUSION BY WASHINGTON into the domain of my elected city fathers.

Would one of you pointy headed liberals tell us WHERE IN OUR CONSTITUTION IS WASHINGTON AUTHORIZED to do this?

Insane 'Taliban' Ad for Alan Grayson Backfires

Alan Grayson, Democrat candidate for re-election to the House of Representatives is known to be a big mouth, hot-headed, thin skinned leftist.  His latest ad against his opponent, Daniel Webster, reaches a new low in political campaigning.

Taking his opponents words COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTEXT and twisting them to produce an image OPPOSITE to that which the opponent really was portraying has appeared to backfire on Grayson.

Here's Webster's full quote, via the Orlando Sentinel:

"Find a verse. I have a verse for my wife; I have verses for my wife. Don't pick the ones that say, um, she should submit to me. That's in the Bible, but pick the ones that you're supposed to do. So instead, love your wife, even as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it, as opposed to wives submit yourself to your own husband. She can pray that if she wants to, but don't you pray it."

400 Far Left Organizations Promote Rally this weekend

Here's a list of predominately left, radical left , Socialist and Communist organizations who are endorsing their rally in Washington this weekend.   The labor unions (and probably other organizations) are paying for buses and people to come to the rally.  They wouldn't stoop so low as to use our "bailout" dollars to do this ...... would they?

Ahmadinejad secretly meets with Farrakhan and members of the New Black Panther Party

"President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's six nights in New York featured a secret sit-down with militant minister Louis Farrakhan, heckling in a hotel bar, and a fear of being rubbed out that bordered on paranoia.

The president shared a hush-hush meal with Farrakhan and members of the New Black Panther Party Tuesday at the Warwick Hotel on West 54th Street.

The meeting of the podium smackers took place in a banquet room, where the fiery leaders presumably exchanged theories on what's wrong with the world."     [NY POST]

United Nations to appoint space ambassador to act as first contact for aliens visiting Earth

If these United Nations turkeys weren't spending OUR scarce $$ hand over fist, this would be funny.  But it is a beautiful example of how far the U.N. has degenerated.

"Chances are that beings with the technology to travel millions of light years will be the ones choosing who they talk to first, not the U.N."      [Michelle Malkin]

"If aliens ever land on Earth there will no longer be any confusion over who will greet them with the news the United Nations is set to appoint an astrophysicist to be their first human contact.

Mazlan Othman is expected to be tasked with coordinating humanity's response to an extraterrestrial visit, if ever required.

The 58-year-old Malaysian will tell a conference next week that with the recent discovery of hundreds of planets orbiting around other stars, the detection of alien life is becoming more and more likely."    [Daily Mail]

Obama appointee told me to stop pursuing race-neutral enforcement of Voting Rights Act

This is testimony [before the Civil Rights Commission] by an ex Dept. of Justice employee. He is one of two who have testified concerning the DOJ unwillingness to prosecute cases of whites being denied voting rights.  This is at the heart of the "New Black Panther" case.

"In the spring of 2009, Ms. King, who had by then been appointed Acting AAG for Civil Rights by the Obama Administration, called me to her office and specifically instructed me that I was not to ask any other applicants whether they would be willing to, in effect, race-neutrally enforce the VRA.  Ms. King took offense that I was asking such a question of job applicants and directed me not to ask it because she does not support equal enforcement of the provisions of the VRA and had been highly critical of the filing and prosecution of the Ike Brown case."     [Hot Air]

The Delphi disaster: Judge refuses to dismiss non-union pensioners’ charges

Watch the Obama Administration try even more tactics to stall this case....... let the sun shine in on the backroom deals of this administration which have favored the labor unions to the detriment of non-union employees.

Christopher Coates takes the stand, cont'd Share Post Print S

"
A Justice Department prosecutor defied his superiors by testifying at a U.S. Civil Rights Commission hearing Friday, where he leveled an explosive allegation: top officials in the department gutted a voter intimidation case against a fringe African American militant group because the suspects were black and their alleged victims were white.
The prosecutor, Christopher Coates, also said the downgrading of the case against the New Black Panther Party was evidence of a Justice Department culture which discouraged "race neutral" enforcement of civil rights laws, frowned on prosecuting minority perpetrators and folded under pressure from black and Latino rights groups. After President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder took office, the culture intensified, Coates told the panel, ultimately leading to his departure as chief of the voting rights section early this year."

Obamacare is even worse than critics thought

"Six months ago, President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rammed Obamacare down the throats of an unwilling American public. Did Obama pull strings for New Black Panthers?

"Why should anyone believe the Justice Department's story regarding these records? We now know Justice officials falsely stated that no political appointees were involved in the Black Panther decision," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton today. "The Justice Department continues to withhold hundreds of pages of records that could shed light on this scandal. And despite multiple press reports documenting Perrelli's White House meetings, the Justice Department cannot find a single record related to these meetings. We're tired of getting the run-around and that’s why we sued." [WND]

Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs: Proceed with Caution

"The modern breed of environmentalist tends to have a statist faith in government. Average citizens cannot be trusted with economic decisions that require balancing immediate costs and long-term benefits. Consumers therefore need wise government to mandate the use of CFLs, through legislation like the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 or through taxpayer-funded giveaway programs.

Many people, however, don't like curlicue light bulbs, and not because these people are uninformed, shortsighted, or on the payroll of Big Carbon. The list of objections is long, but here are a few: " [American Thinker]

Google to Pay Heterosexuals Less Than Homosexuals

"Google is set to begin covering a cost that gay and lesbian employees must pay when their partners receive domestic partner health benefits, according to a report in the New York Times.

Citing a study, the Times said employees with domestic partners will pay about $1,069 more a year in taxes than a married employee with the same coverage. Google will essentially cover those costs, the newspaper said, putting same-sex couples on an even footing with heterosexual employees whose spouses and families receive health benefits." [MSNBC]

"If that doesn’t seem like discrimination, let’s flip it on its ear: I own a company that employs both caucasians and minorities. Swedish rout highlights European socialist crisis

It's Time For A Government Haircut - Make It A Buzz-cut

"To begin to bring government spending under control, every government employee (excluding the military) should have his salary immediately slashed by 10%. In a recent column in the Wall Street Journal, Indiana's governor Mitch Daniels cited executive impoundment power as the basis for such emergency action. While some might call this action dramatic, most of us outside Washington would call it a start and demand that the reductions be made permanent. In addition to a salary reset, every federal employee pension will be frozen at current levels and workers required to relinquish their defined benefit plan immediately in favor of a defined contribution program which will be unmatched by the federal government. S. 1619 “Livable Communities” act is on a fast track to passage!

S.1619 is a blueprint for the transformation of our society into total federal control.

S.1619 will enforce federal Sustainable Development zoning and control of local communities.

S.1619 will create a massive new “development” bureaucracy –
(development Czar?)

S.1619 will drive up the cost of energy to heat and cool your home.

S.1619 will drive up the cost of gasoline as a way to get you out of your car.

S.1619 will force you to spend thousands on your home in order to comply.

41 Obama White House aides owe the IRS $831,000 in back taxes -- and they're not alone

"We now know that federal employees across the nation owe fully $1 billion in back taxes to the Internal Revenue Service.

As in, 1,000 times one million dollars. All this political jabber about giving middle-class ...

The Post's T.W. Farnum did some research and found that out of the total sum, just 638 workers on Capitol Hill owe the IRS $9.3 million in back taxes. As in, overdue.

In the House of Representatives, 421 people owe a total $6,524,892. In the Senate, 217 owe $2,774,836. In the IRS' parent department, Treasury, 1,204 owe $7,670,814. At the Labor Department, where Secretary Hilda Solis' husband had some back-tax problems before her confirmation, 463 owe $7,481,463. Why did the FBI visit Rev. Jones?

"The AP story about the FBI's visit linked it to concern about public safety. But, as Bill observes, any reasonable public safety concern stemming from the action of Rev. Jones and his church would have only a local dimension -- i.e., retaliation against him and his church. Thus, Bill, a former federal prosecutor, concludes that there is "no visible nexus whatever for FBI involvement."

This raises the suspicion that the FBI visit was an attempt to intimidate Rev. Jones. A vist for this purpose would be an entirely improper infringement on his (and by extension our) civil liberties. ' [Power Line]

Pardon us while we dab away the tears.

When the Governor began to respond, Ms. Corfield rolled her eyes and acted like one of her pupils taunting a classmate. That was when Gov. Twas the night before elections

'Twas the night before elections

And all through the town

Tempers were flaring

Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe

With a cat in my lap

Had cut off the TV

Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden

There arose such a noise

I peered out of my window

Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet

They wanted my pay

To give to the others

Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money

And quick as a wink

Jumped back on his bandwagon

As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen

Who were pulling his cart

I could tell they were out

To tear my country apart!

' On Fannie, on Freddie,

On Biden and Ayers!

On Acorn, On Pelosi'

He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause

And as he flew out of sight

I heard him laugh at the nation

Who wouldn't stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think

On this one final note-

IF YOU DONT WANT SOCIALISM

GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

Amen

The Forgotten Man

The Answer Is 'No'

"The "party of no" is meant, and should be clearly understood, as the party of "no, you will not." Yes, Republicans will come out boldly to answer to the charge that they should stand for, and not just against, something. But clarity again: conservatives are standing for something simply using the word "no."

  • No, you will not nationalize health care or manufacturing.
  • No, you will not mortgage our children's and grandchildren's futures for any reason, let alone paying off your supporters.
  • No, you will not place limits on media that serve only to silence criticism against you.
  • No, you will not engage in a foreign policy that apologizes for our actions or undermines our allies.
  • No, you will not use the Department of Justice as a political weapon.
  • No, you will not view our Constitution as amendable at will by a handpicked judiciary without our consent.
  • No, you will not cripple our industries with federal regulations designed to promote the wishful desires of the left.
  • No, you will not play politics with our security to attempt to appeal to groups that will be beneficial to your electoral desires.

Most importantly at the top of a growing list is the direct statement of what the "party of no" truly means.

  • No, you will not transform our great nation into a lesser one."

Obama's Silver Lining?

"Not to worry-President Obama has detected a "silver lining" in these numbers. The private sector, he noted on Friday, "is creating jobs... just not enough." That's like saying the Cubs are getting hits, just not enough. Someday, though, they will get enough to win the pennant and even the World Series. As for the economy, at 71,000 jobs per month it will take 118 months, or almost 10 years, to win back the 8.4 million jobs that have been lost since the Obama recession began. "I'm going to give you a hard concept to get your arms around: It's the concept that there are people in this country who want to intentionally collapse our economic system.

How could it be that any American would or would want to do such a thing? Well, those involved sleep just fine at night because they tell themselves that they're not collapsing, they're transforming — transforming — America into something better." [Glenn Beck]

Beyond the Tea Party - The broadening of a movement

"Lively debate continues about just how many people showed up to attend Glenn Beck’s rally at the Lincoln Memorial, but there has been less interest in exactly why they showed up.

To many hostile observers, the event was simply the latest installment in the ongoing antics of the Tea Party. But the keynote of the occasion, “Restoring Honor,” along with its celebration of “traditional American values,” suggests a decided movement, if not away from, then at least beyond the Tea Party. Far from being directed exclusively at Tea Partiers, Beck’s rally addressed those millions of ordinary Americans who are deeply resentful at what they perceive as a massive and well-coordinated attack on traditions they hold sacred." Barack, Can We Talk?

"Barack, can we, uh, talk for a few minutes?

Oh, nothing. It's just that it just seems we haven't had a chance to talk for a while. I mean, I know we've both been busy for the past year or so. You with your fundraisers and golfing and stuff, and me with all those appointments at the unemployment office. But you know I think it's important in a relationship like ours to keep the lines of communication open. .......... " [Iowahawk]

Professor who was attacked by Muslim extremists fired by college

"Two months ago Professor T. J. Joseph was forced from his car and brutally attacked in front of his mother and sister in Kochi, India as they returned from Sunday Mass. During the bloody attack Professor Joseph was stabbed several times and the palm of his right hand was hacked off by a sword wielding thug. Surgeons at Specialists Hospital in Kochi performed two advanced micro-vascular surgeries to re-attach the severed palm and Joseph spent the remainder of the next two months recovering at his home.

The attack on Professor Joseph had been carried out by Muslim extremists who were enraged by an exam question which they perceived to be offensive to Muhammad. Bowing to pressure from the Muslim community, Newman College suspended the professor................ " [American Thinker]

Obama is pulling down the shades on union financial disclosure

"Should a union officer be able to keep his full compensation from the union treasury secret from the members?

Should a union officer be able to accept personal payments from businesses the union has dealings with and then keep such dealings confidential?

Most would think the answer to these questions is an obvious “no.”

Union management does not agree and they are willing to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars from their members’ dues to prevent any such reporting and disclosure." [Washington Examiner]

Notre Dame University Fires Pro-Life Staffer for Joining Obama-Abortion Protest

"Because he participated in the protest students, staff and pro-life supporters backed when Notre Dame University decided to allow pro-abortion President Barack Obama to give its commencement speech, Associate Vice-President for Residence Life Bill Kirk apparently lost his job." [LifeNews]

Media Bigotry Showing

"The amount of anti-conservative vitriol wrapped in accusations of racism that make it into the reporting and commentary on the Tea Party movement or town hall meetings is shocking.

Researching via the excellent Newsbusters, a media watchdog group, allows me [the author] to provide you with an abbreviated list of examples.

Smartest President in History Botches Oval Office Rug Quote

"Woven into the new presidential seal rug adorning the Oval Office is a misattributed quotation, offering us a perfect metaphor for the Obama presidency." [American Thinker]

After describing Obama's quotation error, the article goes on to describe the paucity of ACTUAL evidence of Obama's high intellect, great mind, and brilliance in academics.... characteristics often used to describe Obama..... and then says:

"For some reason or other, Obama has been able to skate through academia and politics without ever being seriously challenged to prove his depth.."

In my opinion, there is no mystery as to the reason this happened. In his college days, academia caved in to the political correctness mavens. In their world it is not reasonable to question the credentials, the actual skills and knowledge of a black person.... especially one who speaks so well (no jive talk, uses all the right leftist code words, dresses well). By default he has been given a mantle of protection against those who seriously question his knowledge, skills and qualifications. He has worn this mantle throughout his entire life and is shielded by it today.

Former Car Czar Rattner Rats on Obama

The auto takeover was NOT done in the best interest of the country ..... IT WAS ABSOLUTELY A POLITICAL CALCULATION !!!!!

"..... this is the first kiss-and-tell book from the Obama team.

..... shows Obama as "out to get" the car companies and the administration making political decisions about how to deal with bankrupt automakers GM and Chrysler.

-Rattner describes presidential political adviser David Axelrod coming to car meetings armed with poll data to support the takeover and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel identify Congressmen in whose districts large Chrysler facilities were located.

[and the book depicts Obama as the business illiterate that we all knew he was]
-Rattner said Obama was frustrated with the auto companies from the start: "Why can't they make a Corolla?" he has Obama asking." [Fox News]

Cantor: Beware of the Obama tax increases

"Listening to the Democrats this summer, you're unlikely to hear about an impending tax increase. In an effort to sanitize their historically irresponsible decision to raise tax rates in the midst of a struggling economy, President Obama and the congressional majority say they are merely "allowing the Bush tax cuts" to expire.
Skillful messaging perhaps, but cold comfort to the millions of Americans and small businesses who aren't concerned with what their effective tax rate was in 2001." [USA Today]

Harry Reid Now Denies Saying “This War Is Lost” (Video)

"What’s worse…
The fact that Harry Reid said, “This war is lost,” while our troops were fighting terrorists in Iraq… Or, the fact that he now denies that he said it?" [Gateway Pundit]

Arizona Now Has ‘Whopping 30’ National Guard Troops and 15 Billboard Signs Warning Citizens About Drug Cartels Operating on Public Lands

" “We have a whopping 30 [National Guard troops] this week that are showing up,” Babeu told CNSNews.com. “It’s less than a half-hearted measure designed to fail.”

But the federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has placed 15 signs along a 60-mile stretch of Interstate 8 that links San Diego with Phoenix and Tucson warning travelers of drug cartels and human trafficking operations.

“DANGER – PUBLIC WARNING, TRAVEL NOT RECOMMENDED,” read the signs placed along Interstate 8. “Visitors May Encounter Armed Criminals and Smuggling Vehicles Traveling at High Rates of Speed. Stay Away From Trash, Clothing, Backpacks, and Abandoned Vehicles.” [CNS News]

Typical liberal look-at-America-through-a-toilet-seat perspective

"Last week, the Obama State Department submitted a report to the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights on the supposed human rights violations taking place in the United States. According to the Washington Times, the report describes how the United States discriminates against the disabled, homosexuals, women, Native Americans, blacks, Hispanics and those who don't speak English.

.....for many citizens, this report is a rank anti-American manifesto and the last straw. Many believe it to be outright evil, that there is no other word to encompass Obama's disgraceful and indefensible decision. This odious report has placed America -- us -- on a list of human rights violators that includes Iran, North Korea, and Sudan. And Mr. Obama and his administration have done it purposefully, intentionally, and with malice aforethought." [American Thinker]
