Rand Paul claims Obamacare will include diagnostic codes for injuries sustained from a turtle, walking into a lamppost and burning water skis

The total number of defined "Diagnostic Codes', those strange numbers you see on the doctor's bills referring to the procedure he (or for PC-ness, she)  provided, e.g. 99214-25, used to be around 18,000.   Under OBAMACARE there will now be about 140,000 codes.   

Rand Paul's claims there are codes for turtle encounter injuries by naming two: struck by turtle or bitten by turtle !     Actually Dr. Paul, there are nine "turtle" injury codes, including "W5929xA - Other contact with turtle, initial encounter" and, if you have a poor second date with the turtle, "W5929xD - Other contact with turtle, subsequent encounter" !

Now .... we can all chuckle over the idiocy of reporting to the Guv'mint whether we've been bitten or struck by a turtle on the first or subsequent encounters, BUT THINK ABOUT THIS.

The oppressiveness of this intrusion into our lives should strike FEAR into the heart of every FREEDOM LOVING AMERICAN.  There will now be over 140,000 such ridiculous codes.   

Can you imagine the HHS offices full of bureaucrats being paid by our taxes, pouring over these 140,000 code minutiae, hour after hour, day after day, trying to extract meaning from the numbers so that other bureaucrats can investigate, convene more committees, and write more rules and regulations for us to follow?

Can't you just see the excitement?  The person charged with scanning for "turtle codes", after two years of labor finally discovers a "W5929xS" ?  Oh my goodness..... RED ALERT !!!!  "W5929xS - Other contact with turtle, sequela"

 

The IRS Enforcement Department is ordered to investigate.  Seventeen  months later the IRS Case Officer reports back:  the injured party was a Florida spring-break college sophomore who, while fleeing a nighttime bonfire on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale with his girlfriend in hand, slipped on a green turtle egg and twisted his ankle.  He was also coded with F10.01 ("Mental and behavioural (sic) disorders due to use of alcohol with trauma or other bodily injury").  

He was treated at the walk-in-clinic by a Proctologist doing community service, and was given a sample of Bayer Aspirin and told to call-in Monday if he still hurt.  

 

The girlfriend was charged with aiding and abetting a crime under Florida Statutes, Chapter 370, and by the United States Endangered Species Act of 1973......

"No person may take, harass, harm, pursue, hunt, shoot, wound, kill, trap, capture or attempt to engage in any such conduct to marine turtles, turtle nests, and/or turtle eggs." Any person who knowingly violates any provision of the act may be assessed civil penalties up to $25,000 or a criminal penalty up to $100,000 and up to one year imprisonment.

  Four years later, in 2017,  the Doctor was reimbursed $17.59 for the office visit, The young student became a "Hillary 4 Pres in 2020" volunteer, and his one-night stand ex-girlfriend, after serving 357 days for felony misprision, has become a Marco Rubio  Presidential re-election campaign worker.

A fantasy(?), perhaps, BUT WHAT DO YOU THINK?
