Two Serious Questions For You Syria Hawks Out There

FIRST

Can anyone describe any U.S. military intervention (Navy, AF, Army or Marines) in any MID-EAST or other Muslim country which resulted in a long term benefit to the U.S?

If not ...... what makes anyone believe we can do "something" in Syria which enures to our benefit?   What am I missing?

Perhaps the First and Second Barbary Coast Wars in the early 1800's qualify........ but since then?    The U.S. Marines have been singing about the "Shores of Tripoli" ever since.

SECOND

If the plan requested by our Dear Leader, and likely to be approved by our(?) elected representatives, has these two components:

• No boots on the ground, and
• No risk of this escalating into a threat to the U.S. 

then confirm to me that today neither our ARMY, AIR FORCE nor MARINES are on any "state of alert" different than they were in the relaxed, peaceful days of months back?
