"Over
the next two years the drumbeat of income inequality will be repeated
more times than Iron Butterfly's "In A Gadda Da Vida." The political aim
will be to sway the American voter into believing two things: income
inequality in America is immoral, and the Democrats are the only party
that can fix it. There is just one problem; it is a fallacy and
conservatives better learn the tune if they want to win the next two
elections." [American Thinker]
This article goes on to present considerable data to show the reality of income distribution in the U.S. It does so with the use of a lot of numbers. I don't believe this approach, trying to use statistics, will convince many of those we are trying to win over. Most liberals I know are disinterested in facts and are largely innumerate. There eyes glaze over when they are presented with data based arguments. Liberals thrive on emotion and feelings. Our side of this "income inequality" argument must be re-positioned to the emotional realm.
Trying to take a stab at this, I present:
What would life be like if everyone earned equal wages? See article below: FORWARD.
How would you feel about by-pass surgery if your heart surgeon was being paid the same as the guy who mows your lawn?
What would be the point of getting a higher education, working harder, or working "overtime" if you were not to be rewarded?
Well... if you don't REALLY mean EQUAL, how close to equal is close enough for you?
Who decides how close? how much?
There must be a lot of others out there. Comments?
