[An op-ed by President]

"Even as Democrats continue to obstruct and play politics, I have never stopped fighting for the people, and I have no intention of changing course. I promised Jan. 20, 2017, would be remembered as a new day for all Americans – the day the people became the rulers of this nation once again.

  1. Republicans did nothing but obstruct Obama every step of the way, so how does it feel now that the shoe is on the other foot?
What you fail to realize is there was a deal, but three hours later, he changed his mind. It is Trump who shut down the government, because no one can trust him. Like Trump said, It is a weak president who lets the Government shut down.
Mitch McDonnell blocking a proposal to insure that the soldiers are payed and widows receive their death benefits during the shutdown while congress still gets payed for doing nothing, that is beyond anything in US history.
The Democrats were shut out of any hearings on the tax bill, so now you want their help? The tax bill is the only accomplishment done so far, that and shutting down the government.
