clipper Replies To A Snowbird's Complaint

Written to Editor, Tampa Tribune in response to a person from New York complaining about having to pay for parking at certain venues:

The New Yorker who admits he comes from a “land of taxes” in the “greediest state in the union”  [Tampa Tribune, June 10, 2012] thinks “there is no reason to charge the public to park at any of these venues except greed”.

   

Well..... Mr. New Yorker.... the reason we Floridians charge parking fees as well as many other fees to use various facilities is that we believe YOU ought to be the one paying for what YOU use, not THE REST OF US paying for YOUR use through taxes on everybody.  It is really quite a simple concept, be responsible for what you do. Don’t expect others to pick up your tab!
