Is This Some Kind of Joke?
"Buzzfeed chronicles some of the questions President Obama has answered lately. Heck, for all I know, this is all of them:
1. “If you had a super power, what would it be?”
2. “What’s your favorite song to work out to?”
3. “Is [the campaign bus] comfortable?”
4. “Do you actually get to use your blackberry?”
5. “Red or Green [Chiles]?”
6. “What’s your favorite New Mexican food?”
7. “If we were to visit Chicago, what place would you recommend to get some really good soul food?”
8. “I know your real favorite song has got to be ‘Call Me Maybe.’ You can tell us. It’s okay.”
Obama hasn’t given a press conference since June, but I’m not sure
that’s the problem–he tends to get softball questions there, too.
Reporters–not all of them, but the large majority–are trying to help
Obama win the election, and many of them seem to think the best way to
do that is by pretending that he is still popular, still a “rock star,”
still the candidate of hope and change. But I’m not sure they are doing
him any favors. What Obama really is, is an unpopular politician 44%/50%
approval/disapproval in today’s Gallup Poll. Voters are properly surly
about the economy and $16 trillion in federal debt, and I don’t think
the happy talk is fooling anyone." [Power Line]
