The Nuking Of Japan Was A Tactical And Moral Imperative

ENOLA GAY upon return from Hiroshima
The bleeding hearts around the world still find fault with Truman's decision to use the A-bombs on Hiroshima 67 years ago today.  This act PREVENTED the slaughter of an estimated half million US soldiers - more than twice as many as had already been killed in Europe, Africa and Asia. The imminent invasion would probably have resulted in as many as 10 million Japanese lives.    In my six years of living in Japan, beginning just two and one half years after this bombing, I never once heard a single Japanese oppose this bombing.  [clipper]
