UP THE (AMAZON) RIVER WITHOUT A PADDLE

clipper finds himself 850 miles up the Amazon River from the Atlantic Ocean today.  I am AMAZED that the city we are visiting has a population of around 2 million, the downtown has at least a dozen 15 story high rise condos and dozens of major world class manufacturing plants.  We have been told their unemployment rate is 3% (computed by ???).
